BFF Easel Card

I made a very special easel card for my BFF, who has truly been my angel for 41 years.
I felt like creating something pretty to let her know how very special she is to me.
She is the kind of best friend that everyone dreams of having.
I am so blessed to have her in my life.

I had a wonderful lunch today with my BFF and gave this surprise gift to her.
She was very happy with it....so I'm very happy too!
I narrowly missed the posting deadline but was able to enter her card in

This is the second easel card I've made, so it is a learning process for me.   I chose some really pretty, dainty papers from the Maja Design Enjoying Outdoors collection that I know my BFF will love.
I decided to create something a little different from other easel cards I've seen.  I cut the front piece, that holds up the card, in a smaller width so that the pretty paper of the bottom piece could show.
My card is 8" x 12" with the center piece being 6" x 6" (leaves 1" on either side).

I rummaged through my chipboard and found the perfect pieces by The Dusty Attic.  Using the mini upper letters to spell the word 'BEST' to add to the sentiment of the card, I heat embossed them with Lindys Stamp Gang color Imperial Crown Purple Gold to really make the word stand out.
You can see the gold shimmer in this photo!

The one-piece quote is by W.O.W.  (Words or Whatever)
I heat embossed it with LSG color Hollyhock Scarlet PlumBeautiful color!
Look how gorgeous these contrasting purple tones are side by side!

All of the roses in varying tones of purple are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
It was so fun mixing the different types and sizes of roses to form a pretty arrangement.

I cut up a large Dusty Attic corner flourish chippie for placement of the pieces where they were best suited.
Each piece was heat embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang color Spring Leaf Chartreuse.

I absolutely LOVE The Dusty Attic decorative frame!!
How perfectly one of their page pebbles fits inside it!
Such a great addition to the front of this card.
I heat embossed the frame in LSG color Hollyhock Scarlet Plum & the page pebble in Pop Rock Purple
I used an ultra fine point sharpie pen to trace the letters and really bring out the 'smile'.

For the back of the card, (before I started embellishing the front of it) I ran the full length piece through my printer to add a special note to my BFF.  Then I placed chipboard die cut angel wings that I glued to beautiful darker purple Maja Design paper.  The two gorgeous Dusty Attic foliage pieces below the printed note were heat embossed in LSG Hollyhock Scarlet plum.

Once the card was completed, I custom designed a box envelope using Maja Design Enjoying Outdoors papers.  To adequately accommodate the card, this box envelope measures  9" long x 5" high x 2" wide.

I added lace and pearls to dainty it up.  The lace and pearl strands are glued to the bottom and sides of the box envelope.  The lace continues as a handle with a bow for carrying and even hanging on the wall.

I dressed up one side of the box envelope with the word 'friendship' using The Dusty Attic script letters.  These were heat embossed in LSG color Hollyhock Scarlet Plum and a pretty curly rose with die cut leaves was added.  I have had Paper House glitter rub-on butterflies for ages that had a purple one left that I could use!  Yay!

What an enjoyable and fulfilling project this was....
especially knowing that the end result will be seeing my beautiful best friend's smile.
Thanks for looking and hope you have a great day!  Lisa : )

Shared moments together.....are the Best

Today I'm sharing a layout of my two sweet girls when they were bird watching from their breakfast table vantage spot in the kitchen. (hee hee) This photo was taken April 14th on their birthday...YES, they have the same birth date! :)   Miss Gali (the Mama) turned 7 and Lucy (Gali's daughter) turned 5. I've been telling my online scrapping friends that Lucy is tiny.  You can see the difference in head sizes very well in this photo!  LOL

I'm entering my layout in the Blue Fern Studios April 2016 Sketch Challenge.
It's a random draw challenge.  Click HERE to get the rules and join in!

I am so in love with Blue Fern Studios products.  All I can say is that they make me smile - enough said!
All papers and chipboard on my layout are Blue Fern Studios.
I used BFS Imagine Ink embossing powder color Oatmeal on the chippie pieces.

For the metal word "together", I heat embossed with BFS EP color Peacock...and it is GORGEOUS!  Check out how detailed and clear the BFS stamp is!  It is from the Shabby Edges set.  I used Distress Ink color Fired Brick.

All of the butterflies were fussy cut from BFS paper.
I added wire antennae to some of them and gave the one next to the word 'together' added dimension for its front wings. The large flower by Prima was perfect and so is one of the pretty BFS butterflies!

I die cut some ticket shapes and used foam tape to create a dimensional layer.
A little punching on another piece made for a cohesive look with the mesh chipboard.

A flag shape is in the BFS sketch, so I incorporated some into my design. I love how they look!

Until next time.....have a great day!  Lisa, Miss Gali & Lucy >^..^<
